Salty Bag was born in 2013 on the island of Corfu. Salty Bag is the result of the joined vision of three like minded people – Spiros Daikos, Stratis Andreadis and Cryssa Calikiopoulou, who love sailing. Sailing, a beloved sea sport, requires the use of tons of sails each year, which end up in landfill as waste after extended use. Stratis, Cryssa and Spiros came up with a unique idea to alter this situation. Salty Bag take sails which otherwise would be thrown away, record their stories, then up-cycle and transform them into bags. Sails have unique stories; some sails raced in major championships and moved their crews through great life-moments; some sails emerged from storms, shredded and weather-beaten. These are just some of the stories that make Salty Bags unique.
